These Altec Lansing speakers are made for hard-core gaming, plain and simple. We're talking crashing waves of sound, dish-rattling explosions, bass notes like a Mike Tyson hook to the liver.
Let's peek under the hood: Five digital amplifiers powering five separate drivers. A handsome 6.5-inch front-firing, long-throw subwoofer. Twin Altec speakers with 3-inch midrange drivers and neodymium (!) tweeters. Full-function controls for treble and bass. The sound pressure level (SPL) is rated at 106 decibels -- the charts say that's just above a jackhammer, just below a jet engine at 100 paces.
Truth is, you aren't likely to tap the full 200 watts very often, not unless your neighbors are incredibly patient. Or deaf. Or maybe you live in a remote cabin in the woods, in which case: crank it up. You are about to seriously freak some local raccoons.
